Meet Vivien
Hello Fellow Georgians,
I’m having a wonderful time getting to know so many of you as we work together to elect Austin our new Congressman. I’m very proud of Austin and share his vision of hardworking, common-sense, ethical government. We are very grateful to you for the growing support Georgians are expressing for this vision as we campaign across the district.
The decision to run for Congress was a very personal decision made in our home between the two of us with our son Wells’ blessing.
I’ve witnessed Austin make tough decisions for Georgia as a leader at the Capitol. I’ve seen him stand up time and again for what’s right even when it didn’t benefit him politically. While you may not always agree with him, I can assure you, you will always know where he stands.
They say little girls grow up marrying someone in the image of their father. I was fortunate to be raised in a home where I witnessed strong character daily. My father was hardworking and honest to a fault. My husband is hardworking and honest to a fault. There is no other candidate with his backbone and moral fiber. As his wife and partner, I hope to contribute to this campaign with my own unique experiences. I am a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and an alumna of Chi Omega sorority. I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2002 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2004.
I work as a banking officer at The Private Bank and Trust Company in Atlanta. My career in finance allows me to pursue my passion for getting students prepared for life through programs like Junior Achievement and Operation Hope, which help young Georgians develop workforce readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurial spirit.
I am acutely drawn to special needs children, especially those with autism, and helping special needs children get equitable education in Georgia's schools. I have experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques which many – including me – believe to be the leading, proven treatment and method of choice for treating children with autism spectrum disorder.
In addition to helping children at school, I’m also an advocate of the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy. GCCA champions the needs of sexually and severely physically abused children through prevention, intervention, therapy and collaboration.
Through the President’s Club at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC), and my work with the ABAC Foundation, Austin and I have learned a great deal about working with others to find successful solutions to education-related issues. As a treasurer of the North Atlanta Rotaract from 2004-2005, I helped our civic organization unite people of diverse backgrounds in the spirit of volunteerism.
Austin and I are both graduates of Leadership Georgia’s class of 2007. I also was selected to participate in Pathbuilders Achieva program beginning in May 2009. Pathbuilders works with companies to shape the future with high-performing women. It was my honor in 2008 to be featured in Atlanta Intown Magazine as one of the most-noted women in the banking industry.
My background in politics began as a research analyst during the 2000 elections, and I worked as a legislative aide for the 2001-2002 Georgia General Assembly. This experience gave me an abiding interest in our political system, and helped me begin to understand the needs of Georgians across the state. Georgians need a strong leader in Congress, now more than ever before.
Over the course of the next year, the voters of the Eighth District will make some important decisions about the future of our state, and our nation. Those decisions are going to have a huge impact on all of us—on our families, our party, and our children. I believe the citizens of the Eighth District are looking for a conservative Republican candidate to represent them in Washington.
Austin was born in this state, raised in this state, and educated in this state. I have seen him demonstrate in public and in private the dedication and integrity it takes to lead us as a state, by refusing to play politics and staying true to his values.
He is a devoted husband, a loving father and proud conservative. I look forward to working with all of you to help introduce Austin across the District. He just makes such good sense for us.
Very truly yours,
Vivien

I really like what Austin stands for and believe he is the candidate that can aid our country in getting back on track as a true democracy and away from socialism. I will be glad to attend rallies that are in the areas of Perry, Macon and Forsyth. I attended the Republican meeting last night and met him as am very impressed with his credentials as well as him as a person. Vida
