One Response to “Meet Austin”

  1. Steve Bentley says:

    Dear Rep. Austin:

I’ve written your predecessor twice since the elections. On both occasions, I’ve gotten an answer to my letter which is more than I’ve gotten out of Jim Marshall in the last two years. However, the letter was to inform me that he no longer takes e-mail and that this is beyond his control. Just send him a letter to see the response you’ll get.

I called his office to see if he was still my Congressman and I was told that he was until the second of January. I also asked would he be voting on issues until then and was told that he would. That’s when I told his office worker to pass this message to him along with my name. This is the very reason he was not reelected this time. He doesn’t seem to care how the people in his district feel about a particular subject. He simply votes the way “HE” wants to vote on the subject as if this district was his own little kingdom and he’d determine what is best for it. She also told me to pass along my feelings on a particular subject to either you or Sen. Chambliss.

Now, I don’t know if you can do anything about this or not but I’m asking you not to do the same thing once you take office that the Great Jimbo did. If you don’t listen to the people that voted you into office, those same people can vote you out of office as well.

And, since I don’t have a Representative in Congress at the moment, I need contact information for your office as soon as you get set up. Sure wish you could take office NOW because Jimbo has already quit. Heck, he quit representing me long ago.

    Respectfully,
    Steve Bentley
    Forsyth, Ga.
